Adjectives for describing feelings

 guilty /ˈɡɪl.ti/
=you did something wrong/ break the law


I feel so guilty about forgetting her birthday.









lonely /ˈləʊn.li/
= unhappy because you are not with other people.


She gets lonely now that all the kids have left home.






disappointed /ˌdɪs.əˈpɔɪn.tɪd/
=unhappy because something was not as good as you wanted

We were really disappointed by the hotel when we got there






exhausted /ɪɡˈzɔː.stɪd/
=extremely tired

 I must get some sleep - I'm exhausted.






anxious /ˈæŋk.ʃəs/
= nervous

My mother always gets a bit anxious if we don't arrive when we say we will.







scared /skeəd/
=be afraid

He's scared of spiders.









embarrassed /ɪmˈbær.əst/
= confused, shy, ashamed

She felt embarrassed about undressing in front of the doctor.






calm /kɑːm/
= peaceful

He has a very calm manner.




excited /ɪkˈsaɪ.tɪd/
=very happy and enthusiastic

They were really excited about their holiday.
